Good Sleeper

I have decided that other than getting her looks from her father, Brinlee has also picked up on his sleeping habbits. She turns into the biggest bear when she doesn't get put down for bed when she is tired. Doug is the same way. I didn't really know any of this though until we were in the hospital the night we had Brinlee. He didn't sleep so good on the little couch they have in there and by the time we got home the next night he was a total bear. I didn't ask for his help much that night and ended up staying up until 5:00 a.m. with a really fussy newborn. He took over for one hour and then gave her back to me at 6:00 a.m. At least Brinlee is sleeping through the night. We are really lucky to have a 4 month old that can do that. Its nice to be able to get woken up when the sun is up.

Rolling Over

Brinlee is now rolling over from her belly to her back. I totally hate it but you can't keep them tiny forever. You can only stand back and admire their strength and amazing spirits. I love being a mom and wife and the accomplishment that comes from hearing the "I love yous" and "Thank yous" that come each day from the simplest of acts. Well anyways here are the before during and after shots of Brinlee rolling over.

Daddy's girl

Ever since we found out that Brinlee was going to be a girl, Doug has pounded it into my head that she was going to be a daddy's girl because as we all know MaCady is definitely a papa's girl. Well i gave her to him to hold the other night after she had fallen asleep and got these way cute pictures. Who knows, she may turn out to be a daddy's girl after all. I still think she likes me best. But we won't tell him that.

The Thumb Sucking Syndrome

Brinlee is now almost four months old and growing like crazy. She now has a new hobby that she greatly enjoys. This new thing is sucking her thumb. Well, i guess it isn't really that new. When she was first born and they put that little shirt on that covers up their little hands, she started sucking her thumb right through the shirt. Well, trying to prevent any bad habits, i kept her hands covered up for the next two months. Now, no thanks to my mom and sisters, she regularly sucks her thumbs. It doesn't really matter which one, and sometimes it is both of them at once. Here are a few of the times i have caught her in the act.

My Do IT Myself Child

MaCady is definitely my child that tends to want to do things all by herself and being four years old i love it. Only to a point though. I told her I was going to go get a hair cut and she thought that was a pretty good idea. So the morning of my hair cut i woke up to find a huge chunk of her hair in my garbage can in the bathroom. I was mortified. Where did she cut it from, is it really noticeable? I couldn't wait to just spank her butt. I didn't though because when i found her she told me she did it because she didn't want long hair anymore. Well here is a picture of her lovely work. I still haven't brought myself to go and take her to get a real hair cut to fix the damage. But i will someday.
